The family wine, which chooses to call itself Superiore: Dolcetto.
Dolcetto D'Alba DOC Superiore
A shell, the ancient sound of the sea in the Langhe
There is a gesture we have all made as children: holding a shell to our ear to hear the sea. A sound that takes us back in time, to something ancestral, something profound. This shell tells exactly that story: the ancient sound of the sea in the Langhe. Millions of years ago, where our vineyards now grow, there was a deep sea. The Langhe hills have their roots in that distant history. The soils we cultivate still hold the elements and the memory of that submerged past.
Our Dolcetto comes from the Rodello vineyard, where, thanks to the altitude, summer days are cool but nights are mild. Aged for a year in steel and oak to preserve the fruit and freshness. On the nose, hints of plum and dark cherry combine with notes of wild strawberries. On the palate, the attack is rich and juicy, with an almondy, lingering finish thanks to the grape variety's characteristic tannins. It is best enjoyed young but will also age well for a few years in the bottle. A Dolcetto that deserves respect; Dolcetto is US.
