Ode to Manzoni Bianco: A Poetic Tribute to the Langa Terroir.
Cinque Langhe DOC Bianco
Ideas and fantasies in the air, a primordial chaos that will take shape.
First there is chaos. Scattered ideas, flying fantasies, thoughts chasing one another with no apparent direction. And then, little by little, something takes shape. Order emerges from disorder. Beauty from confusion. We chose this powerful image for Cinque: a wine that is a project in constant motion. Because Langhe DOC Bianco Cinque was born this way. From an impulse. From a contrarian idea. From the desire to look beyond traditions and find a voice of its own. In 2016, we planted Manzoni Bianco following our hearts, not a sense of duty. The number 5 is a recurring theme in Lorenzo’s life: 5 May 1981 is his date of birth. “Il Cinque Maggio” by Alessandro Manzoni written in 1821 is one of Lorenzo’s favourite poems. Manzoni Bianco, a grape variety born from the idea of Prof. Luigi Manzoni, who crossed Riesling and Pinot Bianco. It all comes together; it all makes sense.
Cinque is a Manzoni Bianco. Oak and steel: nothing but freshness and aromatic purity. On the nose, an intriguing scent of white flowers and grapefruit, suspended over a delicate and persistent base of hydrocarbon notes. The palate is rich in volume and persistence, with a finish featuring hints of fleshy and sometimes exotic fruits. A wine that changes with every sip, defying classification and continuing its evolution in the bottle.
