Slow by nature. Barbera where time is not a method, but a character.
Barbera D’Alba DOC Superiore Campii Raudii
The Roman helmet, emblem of the strength and determination of a people, our ancestors.
When we redesigned our labels, we didn’t just want to create wines. We wanted to tell stories. Every bottle design acts a voice capable of speaking of the land, of memory, of who we are, as well as showcasing the wine. The Barbera d’Alba DOC Superiore Campii Raudii was the first illustration to take shape. The first note of this new melody.101 BC - Campi Raudii, Roddi. It was on this very land that the final battle was fought between the Romans and the barbarian tribes of the Cimbri and the Teutons in 101 BC. A moment of strength that marked an era. We chose to honour it with a symbol: the Roman helmet. An emblem of the strength and determination of a people who founded our culture. From this first illustration, everything else emerged: musical instruments, natural elements, objects that belong to the memory of the Langhe. Each label is a piece of a larger story.
Campii Raudii is our most ambitious Barbera. A vineyard in Roddi on marly soils, with optimal exposure and low yields. Aged for 18 months in French oak barriques, some of which are new.On the nose, sweet notes of blackberry intertwine with hints of roasted coffee, tobacco, ink and spices. The palate is rich, warm and enveloping on the attack, evolving into a long, finely tannic finish, supported by the variety's characteristic acidity. A Barbera that challenges certain preconceptions about the grape and demonstrates just how much complexity this terroir can express.
